Job Purpose
As part of the Risk Management Framework the Senior Executive will be responsible to ensure that all risk activities are conducted in a systematic and structured manner, aligning with the Authority’s goals, and national and industry standards. Key Accountabilities/Key Activities
•	Assists with the development, implementation, and maintaining of the Authority's risk management policies and procedures, and acts as a liaison between various stakeholders to ensure that the Authority is effectively managing its risk exposure;
•	Conducts regular risk assessments to identify emergent risks and, or changes within existing risks and develops and maintains an effective risk response plan;&nbsp;&nbsp;
•	Maintains the Authority’s risk register by identifying, assessing and analysing relevant risks;
•	Collaborates with the various departments and risk owners to update and develop key risk indicators, risk treatment plans and mitigation plans;
•	Monitors and reports on the Authority’s risk performance;&nbsp;
•	Compiles and, or reviews reports and analyses drafted by the risk team and provide input thereto;&nbsp;
•	Instils a proactive risk culture across the Authority, ensuring that all stakeholders are aware of, and equipped to effectively identify, assess, and manage risks;
•	Researches the various risk factors that might affect the gaming industry and in turn the Maltese jurisdiction and the Authority;&nbsp;&nbsp;
•	Liaises with the functions of the First and Third Line of Defence within the Authority as well as with external stakeholders, such as the FIAU, the NCC and other Government Bodies to consult and co-ordinate accordingly on risk related matters;&nbsp;
•	Assists from a risk perspective in the training of staff in different facets and roles;&nbsp;&nbsp;
•	Provides regular activity updates as directed by your superiors;&nbsp;
•	Carries out any other duties/tasks as directed by the Director – Risk.

Technical/Professional Expertise
•	In possession of a first degree or equivalent (MQF Level 6) in Risk Management, Business, Management, Finance or a related discipline;&nbsp;&nbsp;
•	A minimum of two (2) years working experience in a related area and role. Candidates with longer working experience relevant to the role will be preferred;&nbsp;
•	Demonstrates a deep understanding of risk management principles, internal controls, and business processes, applying this knowledge to proactively manage risks;
•	Qualifications in risk management are not mandatory, but shall be considered an asset;&nbsp;

Job Purpose
•	Advising the Authority on any potential risks to the financial stability of applicants and existing licensees in complying with their respective obligations;
•	Identifying and assessing threats to the financial stability of licensees through the review and analysis of financial statements and liaising with the said licensees to ensure, where applicable, plans are in place for their recovery;
•	Assisting the Senior Executive/Head - Regulatory Supervision in ensuring compliance and adherence to the relevant obligations by licensees, in particular, obligations relating to player protection. 
Key Accountabilities/Key Activities
•	Analysing audited financial statements, and other financial information submitted by licensees, and liaising accordingly with licensees and their authorised representatives, auditors and other key stakeholders;
•	Monitoring licensees' financial position taking into consideration liquidity, capital structure of the company, financial forecasts, and available financial support, amongst others;
•	Ensuring that licensees' financial position is sound. In fulfilling his/her tasks, the analyst is expected to:
o	Provide recommendations to management in relation to financial suitability and sustainability;
o	Investigate and monitor the licensees' financial standing and submit recommendations, as applicable;
o	Develop controls/processes/procedures in order to prevent/detect risks which may be identified through the licensees' financial statements, duly report any findings, and offer investigative support, as necessary;
o	Produce timely and reliable reports, including recommendations, on a regular basis and as may be necessary from time to time;
