Overview

Position Title: Intern - Financial Analysis

Department: Financial Compliance

Reports to: Manager – Financial Compliance

Job Purpose

The Intern – Financial Analysis supports the Financial Compliance team in its efforts to safeguard player funds and promote the financial stability and integrity of the gaming sector. The role provides exposure to financial supervision activities through the review and analysis of financial information, the monitoring of reporting obligations, and the identification of financial risks and trends under the guidance of more senior team members. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the monitoring of licensees' compliance with financial and regulatory reporting obligations;
  • Assist in the review of Monthly Player Funds Reports, financial reports, and other regulatory submissions;
  • Support the analysis of financial statements and other financial information to identify potential risks, trends, and areas requiring further review;
  • Assist in verifying reported information by cross-checking submissions and reconciling data extracted from licensees' systems;
  • Support the identification of discrepancies, omissions, or anomalies in submitted information and assist with follow-up activities;
  • Assist in the preparation of financial analyses, reports, and other documentation to support supervisory activities;
  • Contribute to data collection, validation, and reporting processes to support effective financial oversight;
  • Support compliance reviews, supervisory exercises, and cross-functional initiatives as required;
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Authority to support a coordinated supervisory approach;
  • Participate in team projects and continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned.

Role Expectations

  • Currently pursuing a Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics (MQF Level 6 or equivalent);
  • In possession of an Advanced Level qualification in Accounting;
  • A very good command of the English language;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills;
  • Solutions-oriented mindset;
  • Self-motivated and takes ownership;
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment.
