Overview

Position Title: Junior Technical Analyst – Technical Compliance

Department: Regulatory Oversight

Reports to: Senior Technical Analyst – Technical Compliance

Job Purpose

As a Junior Technical Analyst within the Regulatory Oversight Department’s Technical Compliance Team, the selected candidate will support the review and processing of applications submitted by Authorised Persons, and assist in compliance audits, technical reviews, and other oversight activities. The role involves evaluating Authorised Persons’ systems and technical infrastructure to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, directives, and other requirements. The candidate will also contribute to upholding the Authority’s professional and operational standards across all Authorised Persons.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Employee's duties and responsibilities shall include, but shall not be limited to:

• Reviewing applications submitted by Authorised Persons and assessing the supporting technical documentation to ensure that operational policies, information security controls, gaming systems, and agreements comply with the Authority’s standards.

• Assisting Technical Analysts with post-licensing compliance obligations, including:

 reviewing compliance audit reports compiled by third-party service providers, on all types of gaming operations and affiliated entities;

 conducting local and foreign on-site audits on Authorised Persons offering live table games; and

 carrying out Supervisory Engagements, when necessary.

• Reviewing of documentation submitted by Authorised Persons further to a compliance review and liaising accordingly with other internal departments and Authorised Persons. In fulfilling tasks, the Junior Technical Analyst is expected to:

 review and monitor compliance of Authorised Persons’ systems and submit recommendations;

 ensure completion of inspection assignments, and provide independent, objective assurance; and

 ensure final reports are issued with all recommendations.

• Ensuring that any non-compliances observed are communicated to Authorised Persons, escalated internally and resolved within a reasonable timeframe, as agreed by the Authority.

• Reviewing reports submitted by Authorised Persons in the case of breaches of the company’s information security that adversely affects the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information relating to players. Subsequently communicating with gaming licenses for further information, if necessary.

• Reviewing applications for new or changes to Games, Game Providers, Domains and Verticals.

• Initiating System Audits and System Reviews when required, and assisting with their review. 

• Participate in meetings with prospective gaming licence applicants.  

• Ensuring the goals and functions of the Authority and the Department are met and that professional standards are maintained at all times.

• To liaise with other MGA Departments as necessary.

• To assist in the drafting of detailed reports and memos.

• Carrying out any other duties/tasks as may be instructed from time to time by the management team.

Role Expectations

• Diploma in areas related to computer science, information systems, business, finance, or accounting (MQF Level 5 or equivalent);

• Willingness to pursue recognised certification to undertake IT audits (such as CISA or equivalent). The Authority offers to sponsor employees who do not possess such certification in due course;

• Ability to identify high-risk areas, presenting your findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing;

• Experience in information systems and/or financial auditing is considered an asset; however, we also encourage candidates with a strong interest in the IT sector to apply.
