Overview

Position Title: Intern Officer - Authorisations

 Department: Authorisations – Regulatory Directorate

 Reports to: Business Manager – Authorisations

Job Purpose 

As an Intern Officer within the Authorisations Department, the candidate will be helping/assisting the Authorisations Department in the processing of all applications received by the Malta Gaming Authority, issuing of approvals and in keeping information on all licensee up-to-date. 

Key Accountabilities/Key Activities

• Help the team to carry out a qualitative review of applications received by the Malta Gaming Authority to ensure that individuals have submitted the required documentation, applications are complete and the respective fees have been paid; 

• Help in reviewing the due diligence documents and following up with Criminal Probity Team for relevant vetting, in respect of new applications, renewals, addition of involvement and termination of roles and change of employment; 

• Maintaining information on all licensees and individuals up to date on the Authority’s systems and databases; 

• Help reviewing and drafting approvals for any other additional changes, such as changes in directors, key persons, Highly qualified applicants amongst others.

• Participating in meetings and/or calls with prospective applicants and licensees and handling of general queries received via e-mail or telephone; 

• Carrying out any other duties/tasks as may be instructed from time to time by the Business Manager, Head and/or Chief Regulatory Officer 

Technical/Professional Expertise

• In pursue of an undergraduate Degree ideally in fields related to IT, criminology or business; 

• Interested in the gaming industry; 

• Interest in business , commerce, accountancy/finance and/or IT shall be considered an asset; 

• Be capable of working within a team, manage multiple engagements and work to demanding deadlines; 

• Ability to identify high risk areas and organise and present findings and recommendations in a concise manner (both verbal and written); 

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment; 

• Willing to take ownership and actions.
