Position Title: Senior Executive – Regulatory Supervision

Job Purpose
To be responsible for the overall management of the Regulatory Supervision team’s operational functions. In addition, the role entails acting as the main point of contact for matters related to Regulatory Supervision and shall be the main liaison between the various directorates within the Authority.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for the recruitment and management of the Regulatory Supervision team which is composed of Financial Compliance Officers, Financial Analysis Officers and Supervisory Officers;
• Effectively leading the team, ensuring that unmatched operator experience and collaboration amongst the Authority’s teams is constantly on top of the agenda;
• Responsible for the training of staff in different facets and roles;
• Researching the various financial risk factors that may affect licensees;
• Managing a licensee’s financial risk profile as well as any other risks that may be identified;
• Proposing and actioning risk mitigation measures;
• Overseeing the review of financial statements and other ancillary documentation, Monthly Player Funds Reports, Agreed Upon Procedures reports, player account applications, data extractions, Player Funds Report audits, Monthly B2B Compliance Reports, and other ad-hoc projects;
• Formulating and maintaining processes/policies/procedures to achieve the objectives of the Directorate as may be communicated from time to time;
• Providing regular updates to senior management team, Supervisory Council and/or ExCo when required;
• Ensuring the goals and functions of the Authority and the Directorate are met and that professional standards are maintained at all times;
• Building an effective rapport with licensees and other teams within the Authority, ensuring excellent communication;
• Representing the Authority in various conferences and workshops as may be required;
• Carrying out any other duties as directed by senior management.
Technical/Professional Expertise
• Degree in Finance or equivalent (MQF level 6 or equivalent);
• Possession of relevant gaming experience in regulatory functions shall be considered an asset;
• Additional professional certifications and experience in Finance, Auditing and/or Compliance shall be considered an asset;
• Knowledge of the laws and regulations governing gaming in Malta shall be considered an asset;
• Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft applications. Excellent Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills required;
• A very good command of the English language;
• Impeccable report writing skills;
• Attention to detail;
• In possession of good organisational skills, ability to give directions, mentor and motivate the respective team;
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment;
• Ability to identify high risk areas and effectively present the relative findings and recommendations in a concise manner (both verbal and written);
• Ability to identify and report on sensitive issues;
