Position Title: Officer – Intelligence

Reports to: Executive – Investigations & Intelligence

Job Purpose

The Officer – Intelligence will assist in the ongoing monitoring of corporates and individuals to ensure compliance with the fitness and properness requirements of the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA). This role involves conducting due diligence searches, reviewing documentation, analysing information, and preparing reports to management.

Key Accountabilities/Key Activities

• Conduct ongoing monitoring and regular due diligence assessments of corporates and individuals to evaluate their continued compliance with MGA’s fitness and properness requirements;

• Gather and analyse data from due diligence tools and open sources;

• Assist in the preparation of reports detailing findings and recommendations;

• Collaborate with senior team members to ensure timely and accurate reporting of ongoing monitoring due diligence results;

• Maintain accurate records of all ongoing monitoring due diligence activities and ensure adherence to internal policies and requirements;

• Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices regarding due diligence and ongoing monitoring; and

• Support the development and implementation of ongoing monitoring due diligence policies and procedures.

Technical/Professional Expertise

• In possession of a Degree level of education or equivalent (MQF Level 6) related to role;

• Diploma level of experience (MQF level 5) will be considered if accompanied by related experience;

• Possession of or willingness to pursue further studies relating to the role;

• Experience in due diligence or anti-money laundering within regulated industries will be considered as an asset;

• Be capable of working within a team and managing multiple engagements;

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment;

• Ability to identify, organise and present findings and recommendations effectively (both verbal and written);

• Be highly motivated; and

• Takes ownership and actions.
