Position Title: Junior Analyst – Sports Betting Integrity
Department: Compliance & Player Protection
Reports to: Senior Executive – Sports Betting Integrity
Job Purpose
As a Junior Analyst within the Sports Betting Integrity Team, the candidate will be responsible for assisting in the analysis of cases of betting-related manipulation of sports competitions, managing communication and data-sharing procedures with stakeholders, and representing the MGA on all matters related to sports betting integrity.
Key Accountabilities/Key Activities:
• Assist in the analysis of cases relating to the manipulation of sports competitions;
• Act as a point of liaison amongst the MGA and betting monitoring bodies, regulators, operators, sporting associations, the national platform, integrity bodies and law enforcement about sports integrity;
• To keep record and perform analysis of all statistics pertinent to the day-to-day doings of the Sports Betting Integrity team;
• Assist in the development of training programmes or outreach initiatives related to sports betting integrity and related fields;
• Represent the MGA in meetings, panels, and public speaking engagements relating to sports betting integrity both locally and abroad;
• To keep abreast with policy and regulatory developments especially those affecting the sports integrity and sports betting sphere;
• Providing evidence to law enforcement and the courts as necessary;
• Assisting other teams and departments as necessary;
• Carrying out any other duties/tasks as may be instructed from time to time by Management.
Technical/Professional Expertise:
• In possession of a Degree (MQF Level 6 or equivalent) in areas relating to the role. Candidates with Diploma Level (MQF Level 5 or equivalent) will be considered if in possession of at least 2 years related experience;
• Possession of or willingness to pursue further studies relating to the role;
• Experience in the gaming and/or sport integrity industry shall be considered an asset;
• Be capable of working within a team and managing multiple engagements;
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment;
• Have an analytical mindset;
• Ability to identify, organise and present findings and recommendations in a concise manner (both verbal and written);
• Be highly motivated, well-presented and with good communication skills; and
• Takes ownership and actions.
Due to the nature of the role and the possibility of conflict of interest, those individuals who partake in sporting events that may be subject to betting practices are not eligible to apply. This includes (but is not limited to) persons engaged with a sports club, officials, players, and athletes.
