Position Title: Intern - IT Operations
Department: Infrastructure and Security
Reports to: Infrastructure and Security Executive
Job Purpose
The Employee shall be reporting directly to the Executive – Infrastructure and Security and shall ensure the efficient and smooth running of IT Operations, together with ensuring optimal IT support to the Authority’s employees.
Key Accountabilities/Key Activities
- Provide level 1 support to internal users via the ticketing system to both local and remote users.
- Help to administer, monitor and audit the health of Microsoft Windows and Linux servers.
- Assisting in the setting up audio-visual technologies in respective meeting-rooms.
- Help the IT Department to testing and evaluate new technologies both from hardware and software perspective.
- Supporting roll-out of new applications, services and hardware to users.
- Monitor proactively IT assets and helps the department to keep an updated IT Inventory.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation.
- Take ownership of tasks and projects assigned to you.
- Support the IT strategy in order to help the company meet its goals and long-term vision.
Technical/Professional Expertise
- The ideal candidate should be enrolled on an IT-related course in a Tertiary Education Facility.
- Familiar with various operating systems and platforms (Windows 11, Mac OS)
- Basic knowledge of networking (LAN, WAN)
- Excellent command of English both written and spoken; • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment;
- A positive attitude and enthusiasm to learn.
- Must enjoy working in a team environment.
- Be disciplined and capable of working on your own initiative.
