Overview

Position Title: Junior Analyst - Compliance
Directorate: Regulatory
Reports to: Senior Executive - Compliance

Job Purpose

As a Junior Analyst within the Compliance department, the candidate will be responsible for reviewing external compliance audits, conducting compliance reviews and targeted audits and ensuring, through supervisory work, that MGA Authorised Persons are compliant with the applicable laws, regulations and directives.

Key Accountabilities/Key Activities:

  • Assisting the Analysts in reviewing compliance audits conducted on Authorised Persons and affiliated entities submitted by external compliance auditors;
  • Supporting the Analysts  in conducting:
    • Compliance reviews and targeted audits when necessary; and
    • On-site audits on Authorised Persons offering live table games.
  • Ensuring that Authorised Persons submit relevant documentation, remain compliant with the applicable laws and operate in accordance with the Authority’s directives and policies;
  • Ensuring non-compliances observed are reported, escalated and adhered to by the Authorised Persons within a reasonable timeframe as agreed by the Authority;
  • Liaising with other Departments on compliance matters, as necessary;
  • Participating in meetings and/or calls with Authorised Persons or general queries;
  • To assist in the drafting of reports and memos and other documentation as necessary;
  • Carrying out any other duties/tasks as may be instructed from time to time by his/her superiors.​

Technical/Professional Expertise:

  • In possession of a Degree (MQF Level 6 or equivalent). Candidates with Diploma Level (MQF Level 5 or equivalent) will be considered if in possession of at least 2 years related experience;
  • Possession of or willingness to pursue further studies relating to the role;
  • Experience in compliance within regulated industries or information systems or auditing will be considered as an asset;
  • Be capable of working within a team and managing multiple engagements;
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment;
  • Ability to identify, organise and present findings and recommendations in a concise manner (both verbal and written);
  • Be highly motivated, well presented and with good communication skills;
  • Leads and develops others;
  • Thinks and acts strategically; and
  • Takes ownership and actions.
