Overview

Position Title: Intern - Authorisations

Department: Authorisations Regulatory Directorate

Reports to: Senior Executive Authorisations

 

Job Purpose

As an Intern Officer within the Authorisations Department, the candidate will be  helping/assisting the Authorisations Department in the processing of all applications received by the Malta Gaming Authority, issuing of approvals and in keeping information on all licensee up-to-date.

Key Accountabilities/Key Activities

  • Help the team to carry out a qualitative review of applications received by the Malta Gaming Authority to ensure that companies have submitted the required documentation, applications are complete and the respective fees have been paid;
  • Help in reviewing the due diligence documents and following up with Criminal Probity Team for relevant vetting, in respect of new applications, share and license transfer requests;
  • Maintaining information on all licensees up to date on the Authority’s systems and databases;
  • Help reviewing and drafting approvals for any other additional changes, such as changes within corporate entities, changes within the corporate structure, changes in directors, key persons, games and/or game providers, register/operating address and other company statutory changes;
  • Participating in meetings and/or calls with prospective applicants and licensees and handling of general queries received via e-mail or telephone;
  • Carrying out any other duties/tasks as may be instructed from time to time by the Senior Executive, Team Lead, Manager, Head and/or Chief Regulatory Officer

Technical/Professional Expertise

  • In pursuit of an undergraduate Degree ideally in fields related to IT, criminology or business;
  • Interested in the gaming industry;
  • Interest in business , commerce, accountancy/finance and/or IT shall be considered an asset;
  • Be capable of working within a team, manage multiple engagements and work to demanding deadlines;
  • Ability to identify high risk areas and organise and present findings and recommendations in a concise manner (both verbal and written);
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment;
  • Willing to take ownership and actions.
