Overview

Position Title: Junior Technical Analyst – Compliance 

Department: Compliance – Regulatory Directorate

Reports to: Senior Executive – Compliance

Job Purpose

As a Junior Compliance Technical Analyst within the Compliance department, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the MGA Licensees’ systems and technical infrastructure are compliant with the applicable laws, regulations, and directives. Also the candidate will ensure licensees are adapting and maintaining professional standards at all times.

Key Accountabilities/Key Activities

  • To assist Compliance Technical Analysts with the reviewing of compliance audit reports conducted on all type of gaming operations and affiliated entities conducted by third party service providers;
  • Reviewing of documentation submitted by gaming operators further to a compliance review and liaise accordingly with other departments and gaming operators. In fulfilling tasks, the Junior Technical Analyst is expected to:
    • review and monitor compliance of licensees’ systems and submit recommendations;
    • ensure completion of inspection assignments, and provide independent, objective assurance; and
    • ensure final reports are issued with all recommendations.
  • To ensure that any non-compliances observed are communicated to Licensees, escalated internally and resolved within a reasonable timeframe as agreed by the Authority;
  • Reviewing reports submitted by licensees in the case of breaches of the company’s information security that adversely affects the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information relating to players, and subsequently communicating with gaming operators for further information if necessary;
  • To liaise with other Departments on prudential compliance matters, as necessary;
  • Assisting the Compliance Technical Analysts to conduct:
    • Local and foreign on-site examinations on gaming operators offering live table games; and
    • Targeted reviews when necessary; and
  • To assist in the drafting of detailed reports and memos as necessary.
  • To carry out any other duties/tasks as may be instructed from time to time by his/her superiors.

Technical/Professional Expertise

  • Candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Management Information Systems/Commerce/Business (or the equivalent MQF Level 6);
  • Candidates in possession of a Commerce degree, will be supported by the Authority to undertake CISA qualification;
  • Possession of or currently pursuing recognised certification to undertake IT audits (such as CISA or equivalent) will be considered an asset;
  • Experience in information systems and/ or financial auditing will be considered as an asset;
  • Be capable of working within a team and be involved in multiple engagements;
  • Ability to identify and report on sensitive issues;
  • Be smart, highly motivated, well presented and with good communication skills;
  • Organised and having impeccable report writing skills.
